Fake visas blamed for Hajj upset
Share

A group of Muslims has missed out on making the Hajj pilgrimage because of discrepancies over visas.
Go4 Hajj, a tour operator in Luton, had organised a trip for almost 100 pilgrims complete with visas. But the visas turned out to be fake and the trip has been called off. Pilgrims have yet to find out if they will get their money back. he Saudi government issues free visas but some in the hands of tour operators have turned out to be fake.
One of the victims, Dr Nadim Nayar, spent £25,000 on the pilgrimage tour for his family. He said: "I am ashamed to say to my friends that these are Muslims who have taken our money.  "They told us they would deliver but with the other hand have taken it away."
These hajj trips seem to be fraught with dangers. Travel agents robbed, visa rip offs, unaccompanied women refused access, ferries sunk, thousands trampled underfoot.  Better stick to Canterbury and Walsingham.

FYI My parents who are very old and in their 70's are on the Hajj with Go4 Hajj, unfortunately. These people are completely unscrupulous. My parents and others on the same tour paid twice the normal rate (a normal Hajj typically costs about £2.2k) for Hajj so that they would stay in good hotels, not have to share their rooms with other people, have good transport etc.. What the have found is the complete opposite. These people have put them up in places that not at all what my parents expected and they are having to go through a lot of hardship. It is extremely shameful of Go4 Hajj to behave in this way.
